Sake

Located in Coppell, TX. It was in a shopping center. We thought we would be brave. When we walked in, there were a few people sitting at the bar. You could tell they were regulars. They talked to the sushi chef a lot. The owner (sushi chef) hollered at the waiter to come seat us. He was very bossy! It was kind of funny. The poor waiter was on his way to help us. We sat in the front corner of the restaurant. I am only sharing this information because it reflects the service... More to come!

So we ordered Edamame to start. It was alright Edamame, not very fresh tasting. A waitress brought us out soup. As you can see in the picture we have two soup bowls each. We were eating our first bowl and the next thing you know, she is bringing us more. Now we could give her credit if it was busy night and the restaurant was full but we were the only people at a table. The other people at the bar already had been there a while. The soup was not that great (free though) and I would definitely not want a second bowl.

I had hope the sushi would good because a guy at the bar was talking about sushi in Japan he ate. I figured he had to have good taste in sushi restaurants if he had been to Japan.

Volcano (scallop)- scallop and mushroom with homemade special spicy mayo sauce baked.

Honestly, I do not think it even looks good in the picture. I did not finish all my pieces. I think maybe Wasabi traded me. He did not like this one either but did not want to waste it.

Shakig Dog- shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, crab mix on the top with eel sauce and spicy mayo.

Caterpillar- avocado top the eel roll

After we got our sushi, the waiter went a table away and stood there watching us eat. I felt very uncomfortable. I like to talk to Wasabi about our sushi and whatever else. With our waiter watching us, I just felt weird being in there and talking. I was facing the waiter and told Wasabi about it. The waiter did eventually move away for a little while. This experience alone made me uncomfortable to go back. I do appreciate the service and attendance to us, however, there was no one else in the restaurant, we could use a little space and privacy.

We did get this fun "dessert" at the end. I think this is such a neat finisher for a meal.
